*2012 NEHU FUTURITY RACE *

The first sale this year of Futurity young birds will be held on Wed 14th March at TheTerritorial Club Guisborough

Further sales will be on:

March 21st at Town End Farm WMC Sunderland

March 28th at Middlestone Moor WMC Spennymoor

April 4th at Horden Comrades Club Peterlee

April 11th at New Delaval and Newsham WMC Blyth

All sales begin at 7pm. Evidence of vaccination is needed. The committee reserves the right to reject pigeons, which are too young or too old. These sales offer great opportunities to all pigeon men. For members of the NEHU here is a chance each week to top up your flying team with really good birds; nobody sends rubbish when there is an excellent chance of a good win. For men who are so unlucky that they do not fly with the NEHU they can still take part by sending in their FUT rung YBs to these sales; the breeder gets 50% of the B/B money won. For the cost of a ring plus the transport their bird is in with a good chance. Last year 225 birds were sold at the 5 sales. Obviously not all made it to the race, but those that did shared a pot of £12,155 Not bad odds

Pigeons for these sales should be taken by hand to the venue, or sent to arrive the day before the sale to Mr. Michael Brennan, Unit17, Borough Road Industrial Estate, Darlington DL1 1 TF. Tel 01325 352 828

Finally there is still plenty of time to buy rings to put on your own team of YBs. Sales are going well this year, with over £10,000 already in the Open and Band pots. The guarantee of £1000 minimum for each of the 5 bands, plus the changes in the bands, have certainly increased the interest in this race, particularly among members in the territories of the West Durham Amalgamation and the Durham Combine.
